WWW.OLDSHIPS - WHO, WHAT, WHERE AND WHY |
|
The idea of looking for my particular "old ships" came when I unearthed a photograph of me as a 19 year old taken in 1960, with two run ashore mates from Dunkirk at The Garrison Club in Gibraltar. My first attempts took about a year to design and I was also running a business full time so had only limited time and expertise. I asked for help from an "old ships" from 1961 in Collingwood and Miles (Algy) Sharp came to the rescue. He is responsible for most of the design you now see. Help and contributions have come from many sources, too numerous to mention but we hope to receive many more from you. Since 'Oldships' first came 'on-line' on 1st January 2006 we have had nearly 50,000 visitors to the site from all around the world. We hope that you enjoy your visits to the site and look forward to your comments. Send them to admin@oldships.org.uk Register now and start your search for your old-ships and let them know you are looking. Robbie Perrin & Miles Sharp |

We are always adding to the Ships Library pages and trying to make navigation within the site easier. Seagoing Ships and Establishments are now separated and we have a NEW "Ship Classes" link for the for the more serious researcher. All this takes time so just keep your eye on the site for further improvements. If you see an error or omission then please let us know. Some Ships Photographs and Crests have been donated only in their Thumbnail format and therefore will not link to a full size. We will add full size pictures as they become available so please be patient. admin@oldships.org.uk |
